Hi, I'm Laura and you can probably guess, I love to bake! From baking with my nana in England to coming to Canada as a young girl I have always loved to bake. My parents both went to culinary school in England; so, I followed in their footsteps and attended George Brown school for Culinary Arts in 2004. I have always said that I should have focused on pastry arts as that is where my passion lies. However, I chose to take the more difficult route and start this business on my 2nd maternity leave in 2019.
I have a passion for baking and LOVE chocolate. Give me chocolate any day and I'll be happy. I started Blue Whisk Bakes as a side business from my home but the goal is to one day open a bakery so I can bake delicious treats everyday.
A little bit about my personal life. I have a wonderful supportive husband who has been amazing (demolishing our basement bathroom so I could have a licensed kitchen - don't even get me started on the headache that was). I have three amazing kids, Liam, Quinn, and Isla. Life is busy and crazy most days but I wouldn't have it any other way.
I work full-time at the University of Waterloo and Blue Whisk Bakes is my side gig (pretty busy side gig right!?!?!).
